A Modern English Department
We have a modern English department and believe that the style, methods, courses and books, taught at our school, are among the best available in Taiwan. We use total immersion in our lessons, only use highly qualified native English speakers and place a lot of emphasis on making our lessons fun and enjoyable for our students. Of course, these methods need high standards of teachers, resources and management in order to succeed. At Souls we more than fulfill those criteria. We believe that we have some of the best classrooms, largest and most varied supply of teaching resources and a hard to beat level of teacher support compared to any English School in Taiwan.
Our commitment to these modern methods mean that our two English teaching floors are “English only” areas where even the TAs and students just visiting the floor speak entirely in English (excluding of course, the students in their first few lessons who are adapting to these rules). However, we concentrate on positive reinforcement and it is surprising how quickly students can not only adapt to an “English only” environment but find it enjoyable.
We fill our lessons with fast paced and exciting games and our students quickly obtain high levels of pronunciation, listening skills and fluency, but not to the detriment of grammar or writing skills – we make grammar fun. Grammar like all of the English skills is taught through immersion and games; after all it is through immersion that native speakers of any language learn the fundamental principles of grammar.
At Souls School we believe that with modern and innovative teaching methods English lessons should be both enjoyable and enlightening.
Education and knowledge is fun and without this fun then the student won’t have the thirst and passion for English that we try so hard to instill in our students.

首席英語部門的教學系統是建立在全英語環境的平台之上, 讓學生得以完全薰陶在純英語的環境中.我們擁有台灣最值得信賴的教學方法, 課程與教材設計, 嚴格的品質稽核系統, 尤其教師聘任上更是只針對以英語為母語的外籍老師進行高規格篩選. 老師必須有能力建立趣味的學習情境以及環境, 同時兼具個別學習品質與效果的嚴格掌握. 當然這一切都有賴高品質的教師, 資源, 以及管理系統的統合運作.
在首席, 我們共有兩層英語樓層, 百分之百嚴格執行全面禁說中文的規定以確保純英語的學習環境之外, 其次, 藉著Hearts休閒娛樂中心的啟用, 我們更延伸了教學軟硬體設計的可能, 統合了更多樣性的教學資源與課程設計, 同時也提供外籍教師更具挑戰性的創意發想以激勵學生的學習.
在課程進行的方式上我們以快速有趣的互動遊戲讓學生迅速的學會發音以及聽與說的能力, 但並不因此犧牲文法或寫作的能力, 因為我們把學習文法變有趣了.文法一如其他英語能力一樣都需要靠著薰陶和有趣的互動來學習. 畢竟任何語言文法的基本原則都是透過不斷薰陶而習得. 我們深信透過最現代而革新的教學方法, 英文的學習將變得愉快而且具啟發性.因為我們深信, 如果教育缺少了愉快的元素, 則學生將不再對英語的學習有著渴望與熱切.
