What do I get?

Benefits

Up to 8 weeks of food and board and an end of contract payment. You’ll be given a minimum of $20,000NT travel money which on the 9th of April 2009 works out to be £401 according to the World’s Favourite Currency Site. With cost of living and eating being a lot cheaper in Taiwan that’s enough money to have some fun and take some home. Bonuses are available for later contract completion dates.

Travel

Not many people take the chance to come to Taiwan and you’ll be here and have the benefit of travel advice from experienced Taiwan and international travelers who luckily for you have plenty of connections through their hostel. From March 2009 for possibly a short time only you will not need a visa to visit Taiwan. If, the easily accessible food experiences, temples, cities, night-life, mountains, surfing, cycling, hot springs, culture and friendly people aren’t enough for you…very, very greedy indeed…then cheap 90 minute flights abound between Taiwan and Hong Kong and Taiwan and Okinawa.

Experience

Joining Camp Taiwan means that you'll be enhancing your employability by learning new work experience and developing your leadership skills, communication skills, organisational skills, self confidence, your ability to work in a team and broadening your horizons! We make a CV talking point and help you to stand out. Staff who’ve worked at our camps have used their experiences to move into careers as teachers, pilots (leadership skills, travel experience and independence), journalists (organisational skills, working on student magazines and demonstrating independence) and in the arts (play set construction, theme installation and art lessons). How many people do you know who’ve spent their summer in Taiwan?

Language

If you can speak English and Mandarin Chinese then you can talk to almost anyone in the world. Taiwan is a great place to learn Mandarin and unlike China it is a fully developed country with the world’s lowest percentage of people living below the national poverty line (according to the CIA world factbook).
